Volkswagen LOOP Process

As a team, we first did the research on the city we chose as our area of focus, which was Ann Arbor, Michigan, and the habits and lifestyle of our persona, who was a low-income college-aged student. As well as researching case studies to find new, interesting tech ideas that could inspire our designs, and conducted interviews with people in the same demographic as our personas.

I was tasked with designing the user interface and experience opportunities. Starting my part of the project by sketching out the ideas I had for an app interface and some user interface experience design opportunities.

I designed a screen that would be embedded in the steering wheel to show: a loading screen, speedometer, and a safety light system. That consists of a small screen to the bottom left and a light in the top left corner.

As well as a dashboard screen to show: a welcome screen, the main dash menu, and the digital Community whiteboard.

These are the first draft screen layouts for the VW LOOP mobile app that I designed. This is where I started to figure out the sizing, placement, and flow of the app that then went into the final version.
